** What Species Is This?

Elegant=2C extended tail feathers on the male of this pair of sea ducks gi=
ve a clue to the name. This medium-sized black-and-white diver (seen here=
 in nonbreeding plumage) is a true Arctic species=2C breeding in tundra an=
d taiga regions around the globe=2C as far as 80=C2=B0N. After breeding=2C=
 it migrates to cold coasts of North America=2C western Greenland=2C easte=
rn Asia=2C and the Great Lakes. Individuals can dive down deeper than any=
 other duck=E2=80=94 more than 200 feet=E2=80=94to forage for mollusks=2C=
